BONO REGINAL COORDINATING COUNCIL DONATE TO SUNYANI CHRISTIAN COUNCIL

During the presentation, the Bono Regional Minister, Mrs Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson noted the gesture is part of the central government’s effort to appreciate the role religious sects are playing both spiritually and physically to battle the COVID 19 pandemic.

“ this donation to the clergy is to express appreciation to the clergy for their relentless support which has augmented government’s tremendous investment towards the COVID 19” Mrs Richardson observed.

She again called on the Christian community to continue praying for God’s intervention.

“We can not underestimate the Goodness of God in this trying times. We still entreat our men of God to keep praying to God to accord us his healing power and intelligence so that we can overcome this hurdle too. This too shall pass” she pleaded.

The items distributed included 60 bags of rice, 40 boxes of tomatoes paste, 32 boxes of sardine, 20 bags of sugar, 20 cartons of milk, 20 boxes of vegetable oil, and 12 cartons of milo totaling GHS 6,000.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Christian Council, the Chairman of the council who doubles as the Bishop of the Anglican Church in Sunyani, Rt. Rev. Dr Festus Yeboah Asiamah expressed profound gratitude to the coordinating council for their benevolence.

“This gesture has been timely and we want to thank the RCC led by Mrs Richardson for this kindness. This is a justification of government’s appreciation of our efforts. We promise to equitably distribute it among our members” Dr Asiamah indicated.

He however entreated Christians to use this moment of recoil to pray and observe holiness with their creator.

“Irrespective of the closure of churches, it doesn’t prevent Christians to pray, read the scriptures and have Biblical discussions with colleague faithfuls. God won’t accept an excuse for our iniquities due to the COVID 19” The cleric advised.

Some of the denominations present at the occasion included The church of Pentecost, The Presbyterian Church of Ghana, The Methodist Church of Ghana, The Apostolic church of Ghana, Agape Evangelical church, Catholic Secretariat, SDA Church, Gospel Network and Zion Community Church.

Currently Ghana’s Covid 19 case count is pegged at 5918, with 1754 recoveries and 31 deaths.
