Mr Ignatius Baffour Awuah who doubles as the Minister of Employment and labour relations however made stopover at communities such as Odumasi, Kwatire, Adentia, Abronyr and Boffourkrom to inspect covets and gutters which are been constructed in the vicinities.
Speaking to the media, the Minister described the progress of the work executed by WBHO construction limited as impressive.
“Before the award of the contract, there was some a bit of skeptism but the work done so far is really impressive and promising” He hinted.
He however called on both the consultant and contractor of the project to maintain the pace and level of quality to ensure quality work done for his constituents.
“I want to entreat the consultant (Alexiboam Construction Limited) and WBHO to keep up with the good works till the completion of the job within the stipulated 30 months period. I will however call on other contractors nationwide to execute their contract with such speed and commitment” Mr Awuah observed.
This visit which forms part of his routine monitoring of government projects follows a seven kilometer street bulb installation commissioned last night from Fiapre to Mantukwa.
Speaking on the progress of the project, the Site Manager for WBHO, Mr Elvis Ampem, expressed profound gratitude to the Ghana Highways Authority and other stakeholders for such success.
“The warm cooperation between our outfit and the consultant and the Ghana Highways Authority has really augmented our effort in the execution of this contract. In furtherance, the community members have been very helpful by consensually moving any property which intercepts the progress of the project.” He said.
He however promised their unflinching commitment to complete the work in time.
Mr Ignatius Baffour Awuah has been given the limelight to contest the Sunyani West Constituency parliamentary seat unopposed in the upcoming 2020 election.
This was announced by the New Patriotic Party’s General Secretary on Monday morning as his two opponents Bernard Oduro Takyi and Theophilus Asomah Kyeremeh were both disqualified after vetting.
