According to Madam Amma Frimpomaa Dwumah, this forms part of her annual birthday gesture to the society. The facility is to provide water supply for the girls’ dormitory.
“Every year I give back to the society on my birthday which falls in the month of May, such donations have been to Kwatire Polyclinic, Sunyani Regional Hospital, Children’s homes among other places, but, this year I was prompted the female students do not have easy access to water supply hence I put up this facility to ameliorate the conditions over here” she said.
She called on other privileged individuals to emulate her philanthropy.
“God has blessed each and everyone to become a blessing to others. I will therefore appeal to others who are chanced to be privileged to identify a challenge in their communities and give the captives of such circumstances a sigh of relief” Madam Dwumah appealed.
She again advised the students to learn hard to excel in life.
“I did not reach this height on a silver platter, I burnt night candles while probably my contemporaries were snoring. Hence you have to feel empowered to aspire higher. Don’t get belittled by virtue of your gender or background. I am a native of this town (Odumasi) and a female yet none among these two could stop me from attaining my aspirations” she observed.
The Municipal Education Director, Mr Issah Baffoe who was at the ceremony expressed profound gratitude to Madam Frema for her kind gesture and prescribed good maintenance culture.
“This facility is indeed a blessing to the school, I will therefore charge the authorities of the school and the girls who will be using the facility to ensure proper and regular maintenance. Our girls now do not have any excuse to ramble using water as a decoy”
He also entreated the students to observe the COVID 19 safety protocols as they have returned to school.
“As you (SHS 3 and SHS 2 Gold track) have returned for your final papers and completion of your semester respectively, you’re required to learn hard for academic excellence. Inasmuch as that, you need to stay healthy before you can execute that task, so wear your nose masks at all times, avoid crowded areas, wash your hands frequently and use your hand sanitizers to refrain from the virus. Don’t put your life, your colleagues’ lives or your teachers’ lives in peril” he advised.
